2D-Game Development Workshop

Over the past 10 years, the area of computer games has expanded to be a significant area of computer science research. Game design experience starts with an idea, often a modification of an existing concept. The game designer usually produces an initial game proposal document containing the concept, game play, feature list, setting, story target audience requirement and schedules, and budgets estimates. Many decisions are made during the course of a game development about the game’s design; it is the responsibility of the designers to decide which element will be implemented. Because we often borrow knowledge from mathematics and cognitive science and other fields. We do so to help establish a field to design games properly. Hence our event ‘Build & Play’ was about developing and knowing the basics of game development

Objective

Our main motive was to impart students with the knowledge of the tools and techniques needed for design and development of games. Our main motive was to enable participants to develop interactive games using C# with the help of live projects

Event Details

International Institute of Information Technology ACM Student Chapter and ITSA organized a workshop in partnership with Outscal on the topic of Game Development. The workshop was conducted by Malhar Devasthali Subject Matter Expert at Outscals. Workshop was conducted through online mode on 12 March 2021. There was no entry fee charged for the workshop. Students were taught the basics of game development. They also got familiar with the software used for game development. Students got to know about the future opportunities in the field of game development. The entire workshop was being streamed live on you tube.

Conclusion

This event was a team collaborated effort of all the members of ITSA and ACM Student Chapter of I2IT with Outscals. All the students worked very hard and endlessly to conduct events at such a level. Also, with students all the teachers worked untiringly, helping and guiding the students at each and every step
