Spree of Coding

The coding challenge held during Dhruva 2023 emerged as a thrilling and intellectually stimulating event, attracting participants with a passion for programming and problem-solving. Designed to test and showcase participants’ coding prowess, the event created an engaging platform for students to demonstrate their technical acumen and innovative thinking

Objective

The objective of the event was to test and challenge students coding and critical thinking skills.

Event Details

The coding spree during Dhruva 2023 comprised three challenging rounds, each designed to assess different aspects of participants’ abilities and provide a comprehensive evaluation of their coding skills. The progression through these rounds added layers of complexity, ensuring a thorough examination of participants’ aptitude, conceptual understanding, and practical coding capabilities.

In the first round, participants encountered an aptitude test that gauged their mathematical and logical reasoning skills. This round aimed to assess the participants’ ability to think critically, solve problems under time constraints, and demonstrate a strong foundation in fundamental aptitude areas. The second round delved into the intricacies of pseudo codes, evaluating participants on their ability to articulate algorithmic logic in a high-level language. This segment challenged participants to think algorithmically, emphasizing the importance of clear and concise problem-solving methodologies. The culmination of the coding spree unfolded in the third round, where participants faced a coding test hosted on HackerRank. This round provided a practical application of coding skills, requiring participants to implement solutions to real-world problems. The challenges posed were designed to test the depth of participants’ coding knowledge, problem-solving strategies, and the ability to write efficient and effective code within the constraints of the competition.

Conclusion

This event was a great opportunity for students to show off their coding and aptitude skills and win some prizes along the way.
